May 9, 2012: We received a wonderful update on this sweet boy.
From the Cat Shack folks: Rudy is a super affectionate lover who gets along with every person and animal he meets! This front-declawed teenage boy is loving his 2nd chance at life after almost being euthanized by his former owner.
He is ready to find the perfect home. When Rudy came into foster care he was an insulin dependent diabetic. His diet was switched to an all canned food and his weight was controlled by his Cat Shack foster parents and we are happy to report that Rudy has successfully been taken off his insulin! Rudy's foster mom still occasionally checks his blood glucose using the meter and strips supplied by DCIN and his values are staying very stable. Rudy's vets (and all the Cat Shack volunteers) are thrilled that this sweet guy is doing so well.
March 18, 2012--From his foster person: "Rudy, who has been diagnosed as a diabetic, has been overlooked so far but he is such a wonderful and laid back cat. We are sure there is a wonderful home out there for this boy. He is SUPER sweet and is now on a better diet where it's expected to reduce or even possibly elimiate his need for insulin. Even with the insulin Rudy is what we would consider highly adoptable. He is loving, gets along with everyone and rolls over for his insulin shot. He is wonderful with kids, too! He also loves to cuddle and often he will join us in our bed at night to lay at our feet. He's a beautiful orange tabby and has many years of affection to offer. He has been through so much already and now is ready to live out the rest of his years in a furever home!"

February 02, 2012--Meet Rudy, a very handsome orinch 10 year old kitty. He was abandoned at a shelter when his owner no longer wanted him or his 2 feline housemates anymore. He was taken to be eutanized but the vet refused because Rudy is a very happy, healthy kitty.
He is a very sweet and affectionate cat with a lot of personality.
DCIN will be helping The Cat Shack Rescue by sending Rudy's foster mom a glucometer, test strips and lancets so she can start testing his blood sugars at home.
Rudy is amazing with children and he loves to cuddle. He is front declawed, neutered, vaccinted, FeLV/FIV neg and is perfectly house trained.
Do you have room in your home for this wonderful boy. He is currently safe in a foster home but he would love to have his very own home to call his own. He can offer you many years of love and purrs.
