HART of Maine - Star

June 3, 2014 -- Star, now a media sensation.

February 21, 2014-- HART's little tabby Star is beginning to twinkle once more! She is only 8 years old but before coming to HART, she was found as a stray and was extremely emaciated and scabbed. This long haired girl had many mats and was shaved on intake, so her pretty fur is finally starting to grow back in again.

We've learned a few things already about Star! She is a lap cat! Star enjoys pets and snuggling whenever she gets a chance. Star doesn't care for other kitties and grumbles to show her displeasure when they walk too close to her. She may be ok in a home with another laid back kitty, but may or may not ever choose to be friends.

Star enjoys her canned Wellness grain-free favor choices and has recently been on 1 unit of insulin, but as her numbers have remained very high, her dosage will likely be increased. Hopefully this increase will be only temporary and her insulin needs can be stabilized soon.

Don't you just think her white whiskers are the purrfect accessory? Her lovely green eyes are saying “Thank you for saving me, and now please help me find me a home where I'll be loved and never abandoned again”.

Let the volunteers at HART show you how easy it is to care for a diabetic kitty! To contact HART, here is the link to the website: http://www.hartofme.com/ .
